Jacket is a replica created by publisher Gerry De La Ree in the 1970's after being told by Derleth that no additional dustjackets were printed. 1268 copies printed. A landmark in the history of weird fiction and of American publishing. Assembled by August Derleth and Donald Wandrei, it was designed to include the author's best stories along with his monograph "Supernatural Horror in Literature" (1927), which appears here in its fully revised state. [Joshi 21-22] Several small bruises to spine and top cover, corners slightly nudged, rubbing to bottom and fore edges, several splashes to top edge of text and previous owners name neatly written top left of pastedown. Slight toning of pages as usual. Binding is solid and square with no internal marks. Dustjacket not clipped ($5.00 price), with small loss and wear to top of spine/bottom right of rear panel, and very slight toning to top of flaps. A solid copy. Joshi, S.T.
